ABS Avanced Breathing System
The common rebreathing system component of Aisys, Avance and Aespire anesthesia maschines

When buying a motor car we are naturally drawn to the vehicle’s acceleration (060mph), braking (600 mph) and other performance indicators. We use this information to assess the vehicle’s ability to perform efficiently,be economically and, most importantly, safely.

  • The response time and circuit kinetics of the Avance ABS were found to be faster than Dräger Primus:‘Time to reach the target concentrations are statistically significantly shorter with Avance than with Primus on all saturation and washout profiles.
  • Avance, with a reduced volume breathing circuit (2,7litres versus Primus’4,5litres) mainly through excluding manual circuit (balloon gas mixer) during mechanical ventilation; moreover tubular geometry of the breathing circuit generates less turbulences and allows faster sevoflurane saturation and washout.
  • We regard breathing circuit performance as a fundamental requirement of a modern anaesthesia machine and should not be compromised. So much so, we have ‘platformed’the ABS on our Aisys, Avance and Aespire family anaesthesia systems. This means that whether you choose Aisys, Avanceor an Aespire, you are not compromising on the breathing circuit performance foryour patients.

In 2008, a group of clinicians in Toulouse, France, investigated the ‘acceleration’(agent washin) and ‘braking’(agent washout) performance of (re)breathing circuits on two leading anaesthesia machines, to benchmark the efficiency, economy and safety. With compelling results.

The ABS Rebreathing system is a the common component of Aisys, Avance and Aespire anesthesia maschines of GE/Anandic.

One high performance rebreathjing system with  outstanding specifications. The response time and circuit kinetics of the Avance ABS were found to be faster than Dräger Primus: Time to reach the target concentrations are statistically significantly shorter with Avance than with Primus on all saturation and washout profiles.
